I'm taking a beginners ballet class but my ballet shoes fit me weird?

Ok so I orders the Capezio daisy full sole leather shoe. The sizing is fine but the sides are really weird they fit me a little big from the sides. What should I do? I ordred from discount dance supply and I used the sizing chart but I dunno. Is this normal?

That happens to me all the time since I have fairly slender feet. There should two strings coming out of the front of the shoe. You can pull them tighter and that should help with the extra room. It is kind of like a drawstring in a sweatshirt. Make sure you tie a knot so it will stay, and you might want to cut off some of the extra string if it gets annoying to tuck in. Just make sure you don't cut it too close to the knot though, because if it comes out you want to be able to retie it.
